Im sorry if you felt I was criticizing you for that was not my intention. I think as an artist it is important to develop BOTH skills, drawing from life and drawing from reference. I was enjoying the dialogue with you and listening to your input, thats what I think is nice about these forums. That accomplished artists can discuss working techniques and why they work the way they do. I have had plenty of artists ask me about my working techniques and I love discussing different opinions.

ok Jeanine, I accept your excuses, or it can be that I have not understood each other well (I don't know very well English I use a translator) . I understand that if you are instructor drawing, you tell to your students that don't draw of pictures, but I have seen in your pag. that you also make it. Looks,I also give classes and to my students I give them full freedom for those that want to make copìas of pictures and for those that want to paint of the natural one, I believe that it cannot be imposed to the other ones the way in which they want to be expressed. For luck or unfortunately I am self taught, I have not learned in any school as you, but I understand that it is never necessary to devaluate or criticate the work of the other ones, I never make it, I have never made it, because I am not any I criticize of art, only a painter to which he loves their work. Greetings Jeanine !!
My apologies to you, I did not mean to assert that you are not an artist, I was just curious as to why you found reference photos more exciting to work from then a live model, since for me it seems so much more difficult and challenging to draw from life but maybe for you perhaps you find more of a challenge in drawing photos. I was just curious as to why you chose your method of working. Again my apologies, you have to understand I am a life drawing instructor so I am biased. It is my greatest challenge to get students to not draw from photos.

ok. your you are a brilliant artist and creator, me on the contrary, according to you you say I am a simple copyist.Alone I am a painter that tries to be expressed in the way that I knows how to make it. My congratulations for your work!! and greetings!!!
Yes but dont you think that a painting or drawing from a photo has a certain stiffness that one done from life does not. When drawn from life their is more aliveness to the pose. Not to mention then it is your own thoughts and ideas, rather then just copying the thoughts and ideas from the photo. Otherwise in just copying a photo you bring nothing original of yourself as an artist, and the viewer cannot tell what was your ideas and what was just copied. And you can work as detailed and realistic as you want from a live model too. Just my thoughts, I try to avoid working from photos unless Im doing a self portrait. That way all of my paintings are mine and not someone elses ideas.

In my works, there are paintings that belong to alive models, but in the great majority I use pictures, it is much quicker!!nowadays, the almost the painters' entirety uses the picture like base for its paintings (I refer to realistic works and with many details) in another type of paintings, as the impressionism, if one can make with models!!
¡¡qué bien!! me alegro mucho que te gustara Ron !!!Me gustan las dos maneras de agradecerme jajaja el besito y lo de ternura !! Gracias a tí por tu estupendo trabajo amigo !!!
